Hadith 2785

´‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:` “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: ‘There is no band of warriors that fights in the cause of Allah and acquires war spoils, but they have been given two thirds of their reward, but if they do not get any spoils of war, then they will have their reward in full (in the Hereafter).’”

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
(1)
The one who endures more hardships in jihad receives greater reward.

(2)
One should not be distressed at not receiving war booty, because in terms of the outcome, this is better.

(3)
War booty (ghanimah) should be spent in the way of Allah rather than merely fulfilling personal needs, so that the full reward may be attained.
