Hadith 2762

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الذِّمَارِيُّ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَغْزُ أَوْ يُجَهِّزْ غَازِيًا أَوْ يَخْلُفْ غَازِيًا فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ أَصَابَهُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ بِقَارِعَةٍ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever does not fight, or equip a fighter, or stay behind to look after a fighter’s family, Allah will strike him with a calamity before the Day of Resurrection.”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ In addition to personally participating in battle, financially supporting a mujahid or serving and looking after the family of a mujahid is also equal to participating in jihad.
➋ If a person is unable to participate in battle, he must certainly take part in one of the other two actions; otherwise, he will be considered guilty of abandoning jihad.
➌ The punishment for some sins is meted out in this very world.
