´It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “The one who fights in the cause of Allah has a guarantee from Allah. Either He will raise him to His forgiveness and mercy, or He will send him back with reward and spoils of war. The likeness of the one who fights in the cause of Allah is that of one who fasts and prays at night without ceasing, until he returns.”

Benefits and Issues:
➊
To observe continuous fasting or to remain constantly engaged in prayer is an impossible act, because a person is compelled to come out of prayer and break the fast in order to fulfill his physical needs. However, even when a mujahid is not practically engaged in battle, he continues to receive reward.
In this respect, jihad is a greater cause of reward.
➋
War booty (mal-e-ghanīmah) is a reward for the mujahid, because he also spends it in righteous deeds.
In this way, he attains further reward.
