´'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father that his grandfather said:` “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) screaming. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: 'What is the matter with you?' He said: 'My master saw me kissing a slave woman of his, so he cut off my penis.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Take me to the man.' He was sought but could not be found, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Go, for you are free.' He said: 'Who will protect me, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? What if my master enslaves me again?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Your protection will be (incumbent upon) every believer or Muslim.'”

1؎: From both these hadiths, it is understood that if someone causes severe harm to his slave or bondwoman—for example, cuts off a limb or burns their body—then the ruler (hakim) can set that slave free, and may also impose whatever punishment he deems appropriate upon the owner.
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: ➊ If a person severs the limbs of his slave, retribution (qisas) will not be taken from the master.
➋ If such excess is committed against the slave for which the punishment is retribution (qisas), then the slave will be set free.
➌ By "limbs" are meant the nose, ears, or hands and feet, etc.

Benefits and Issues: If an owner commits injustice against his slave and severs his limbs, then the slave will be set free. And there is a difference of opinion among the jurists regarding taking retribution (qisas) from the owner, as its brief detail has already been mentioned.
