Hadith 24

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِذَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا فَفَرَغَ مِنْهُ قَالَ : أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´Muhammad bin Sirin said :` "Whenever Anas bin Malik finished narrating a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he would say, 'Or as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said.'"
Brief Explanation
1؎: By saying this, it is as if he wanted to clarify that the hadith we have narrated to you is a narration by meaning (riwayah bil-ma‘na); as for the words themselves, it is possible that these are exactly the same words, or that some of the words have been changed.
