Benefits and Issues:

By ‘ariyatan’ (on loan), it is meant that something is taken from someone with the intention that after use, it will be returned exactly as it was.

By ‘minhah’ (grant), it is meant an animal that gives milk, which is given to someone on the condition that when it stops giving milk, it will be returned. During this period, the recipient of the grant continues to use its milk, because in a sense, this too is a form of ‘ariyatan’ (loan).

It is obligatory for the one who borrows something on loan to use it in such a manner that it does not incur any damage, so that upon its return, the owner can benefit from it in the same way as he used to benefit from it before.
