Hadith 2395

´It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said:` “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'I gave my mother a garden of mine, and she has died and has no other heir but me.' The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Your charity is valid and your garden has been returned to you.' ”

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
(1)
Charity (sadaqah) can be given to one's parents.

(2)
If something given as charity (sadaqah) to one's parents comes back to the giver as inheritance after their death, this is not considered as taking back the charity, because a person's intention or effort has no role in death and the entitlement to inheritance.

(3)
In the above situation, the reward of the charity (sadaqah) will not be nullified.
