Commentary: Benefits and Issues: Two meanings of muqaradah have been stated. One is to give someone a loan; the other is to participate in a business on the basis of mudarabah, that is, one person provides the capital and the other works, and the profit is distributed between them according to an agreed-upon ratio. This business arrangement is permissible.

Narrated Suhaib (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are three things which contain blessings: A business transaction in which payment is agreed on a fixed later time, al-Muqaradah (speculative partnership), and mixing wheat and barley for one's household use but not for sale." [Reported by Ibn Majah through a Da'if (weak) chain of narrators].
