Benefits and Issues:
The aforementioned narration has been declared weak in its chain of transmission by our esteemed researcher, whereas other scholars have considered it to have a sound chain of transmission. See: (Sunan Ibn Majah, verified by Dr. Bashar Awwad, Hadith: 2113; Sahih Ibn Majah, No. 1730; Sunan Ibn Majah, verified by Mahmood Hasan Nassar, No. 2113)
In any case, there is no specific quantity or standard prescribed for the food; rather, whatever food is ordinarily prepared at home, ten poor people may be fed according to that standard and quantity.
When guests arrive, an effort is made to prepare better food.
Sometimes, food of a lower standard than usual is also consumed.
In expiation (kaffarah), it is neither required to provide the elaborate food served to guests, nor the lowest standard of food, such as sometimes making do at home with only pickles or chutney.
Rather, food should be provided while considering what is customary for most days for each person.
And Allah knows best.
