´Thabit said:` “We were sitting with Anas bin Mahk, and a daughter of his was with him. Anas said: 'A woman came to the Prophet and offered herself to him. She said: " O Messenger of Allah, do you have any need of me?"' His daughter said: 'How little modesty she had!' He said: 'She was better than you, because she wanted (to marry) the Messenger of Allah, and she offered herself to him. "

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The presence of the daughter of Anas radi Allahu anhu in the gathering does not mean that she would sit with unrelated men without observing hijab; rather, she was present in that gathering while observing the etiquettes of veiling and in the presence of her father. There is no allowance in Islamic Shari‘ah for informal, private meetings with non-mahram (unrelated) men.

➋ In scholarly gatherings, women may participate alongside men, but the place for women should be separate; intermixing is not permissible.
