English Commentary:
The chain of narration of this hadith is weak; however, in other narrations, these words are reported with an authentic chain:
O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, and the children of the Ansar, and the children of the children of the Ansar. (Sahih Muslim, Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Chapter: Among the Virtues of the Ansar, Hadith 2506)
That is, this narration is authentic with the words (اللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْاَنْصَار) — "O Allah, forgive the Ansar" — instead of (رَحِمَ اللهُ الْأَنْصَارَ) — "May Allah have mercy on the Ansar."
