Benefits and Issues:
In the chain of narration of this report, there is a narrator, Ibn Jurayj.
He made a mistake, or Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Abu ‘Ata made a mistake.
Therefore, this narration is not authentic with these words.
In reality, this virtue is for the one who guards the borders at the time of jihad.
In Sahih Muslim, it is narrated from Salman radi Allahu anhu.
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
Standing guard at the border for one day and night is better than fasting and standing in prayer for a month.
And if he (while standing guard at the front)
dies, his deeds that he used to do will continue for him. (He will continue to receive the reward for those deeds even after his death.)
And his provision will continue to be given to him.
And he will be safe from trial. (Sahih Muslim, Al-Imarah, Chapter: The Virtue of Ribaat in the Path of Allah, Hadith: 163)
