Brief Explanation
1؎: In Arabic, «سقط» refers to a premature and incomplete child who is born before the completion of the gestation period and whose limbs are not fully formed. Often, such a child dies immediately after birth or within two or three days.
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: By "sending ahead" is meant the death of a child. A child born prematurely does not survive or is born deceased. There is also reward for patience over this, as is mentioned in other authentic ahadith. By "leaving behind a rider" is meant that when a person dies, his grown son remains, who is able to participate in jihad mounted on a horse. This narration is weak. However, the reward for the death of a soundly formed (sahih al-khalqah) child is established from authentic ahadith. It is not unlikely that, upon patience and seeking reward, Allah Ta'ala may grant the reward of a soundly formed child as well. And that is not difficult for Allah.
