Brief Explanation
1؎: The matter of constructing domes and cupolas over graves is the same; this is unnecessary extravagance from which the deceased derive no benefit, and it is a form of veneration for the dead that leads towards shirk (associating partners with Allah).
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefit:
Building upon the grave is absolutely prohibited.
The greater the construction,
the greater will be the violation of this blessed instruction, and accordingly, those who build will incur more sin.
If the deceased, during his lifetime, liked this act,
and he wished that his grave be solidly constructed
or that a structure be built over it, then he too will bear an equal amount of sin.
