´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “Then Ibrahim the son of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed and said: ‘He has a wet-nurse in Paradise, and if he had lived he would have been a Siddiq and a Prophet. If he had lived his maternal uncles, the Egyptians, would have been set free and no Egyptian would ever have been enslaved.’”

Benefits and Issues:
➊
Our esteemed researcher has declared the mentioned narration to be weak in its chain of transmission. However, Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah writes in his research on this narration: This statement—“If Ibrahim radi Allahu anhu had lived, he would have been a prophet”—is not established as a marfu‘ (attributed directly to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) hadith. However, it is authentic as a statement of the Companions radi Allahu anhum ajma‘in. He further writes that, except for this sentence (“If he had lived... and the Copt was not enslaved”), the rest is authentic. Likewise, Dr. Bashar ‘Awwad has also declared the mentioned narration authentic except for its last sentence (“I would have set his brothers free”). For details, see: (Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Da‘ifah wa al-Mawdu‘ah: 1/387, 388, Hadith: 220; Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1236; Sunan Ibn Majah by Dr. Bashar ‘Awwad, Hadith: 1511)
➋
When Ibrahim radi Allahu anhu passed away, he was at the age of nursing. Allah, the Exalted, granted him the honor that he drank the milk of the maidens of Paradise (hur al-‘ayn). It is possible that this honor was specific to Ibrahim radi Allahu anhu, and it is also possible that all believing children who die in infancy receive this. In any case, these are matters of the unseen. Therefore, only Allah, the Exalted, knows the true reality of the matter.
