´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “When Ibrahim the son of the Prophet (ﷺ) died, the Prophet (ﷺ) said to them: ‘Do not wrap him in his shroud until I look at him.’ He came to him, bent over and wept.”

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefit:
This narration is indeed weak.
However, it is established from other narrations
that it is permissible to look at the face of the deceased.
And for tears to flow from the eyes due to grief and sorrow is also not blameworthy.
The crying of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) at the death of his son, Ibrahim (radi Allahu anhu), is also mentioned in another narration.
See: (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1589)
Similarly, after the passing of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu) removed the cloth from the blessed face of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), visited him, and kissed him. (Sunan Abi Majah, Hadith: 1457)
This incident occurred before the ritual bath (ghusl) and shrouding (kafan).
However, it can be understood from this that visiting the deceased is permissible both before and after the ritual bath and shrouding, because apparently there is no evidence for any distinction.
And Allah knows best.
