Hadith 1468

حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَاغْسِلْنِي بِسَبْعِ قِرَبٍ مِنْ بِئْرِي بِئْرِ غَرْسٍ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Ali that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When I die, then wash me with seven buckets from me well, the well of Ghars.”

Benefits and Issues:

In the area of Bi’r Gharas in Madinah, there was a well where the tribe of Banu Nadir used to reside.
This well was famous for the excellence of its water. (Mu’jam al-Buldan: 4/193).
