´It was narrated that Abu Rafi’ said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to ‘Abbas: ‘O uncle, shall I not give you a gift, shall I not benefit you, shall I not uphold my ties of kinship with you?’ He said: ‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: ‘Pray four Rak’ah, and recite in each Rak’ah the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and a Surah. When you have finished reciting, say: Subhan-Allah wal-hamdu Lillah wa la ilaha illallah wa Allahu Akbar (Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Allah is the Most Great) fifteen times before you bow in Ruku’. Then bow and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times; then prostrate and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times; then prostrate and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times before you stand up. That wil be seventy-five times in each Rak’ah and three hundred times in the four Rak’ah, and even if your sins are like the grains of sand, Allah will forgive you for them.’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what if someone cannot say it in one day?’ He said: ‘Then say it once in a week; if you cannot, then say it once in a month’ until he said: ‘Once in a year.’”

Benefits and Issues:
➊ One manifestation of Allah Ta’ala’s vast and boundless mercy is that He has placed immense reward for some easy and apparently minor deeds. Therefore, by paying attention to such deeds, we should strive to attain as much of Allah’s mercy as possible.

➋ If a good deed cannot be performed frequently, then it should be done occasionally whenever possible. One should not abandon it thinking that we cannot act upon it consistently.

➌ The words of Allah’s glorification (tasbih), sanctification (taqdis), and praise (hamd) are extremely beloved to Allah Ta’ala. Therefore, even among general remembrances (adhkar), these should be given importance. For example, regarding (Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi Subhanallahil Azim), it has been stated that although these words are light on the tongue, they are very beloved to Allah Ta’ala, and on the Day of Resurrection, their weight in the scale of deeds will be very great. See: (the last hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari). In the Prayer of Tasbih (Salat al-Tasbih) as well, glorification (tasbih), praise (hamd), declaration of Allah’s oneness (tawhid), and magnification (takbir) are mentioned abundantly. That is why this prayer carries such tremendous reward.

➍ When encouraging others towards good deeds, one should adopt such a manner that creates eagerness for that good deed in the hearts of the listeners.

Commentary: 1 ʾ:
In a hadith narrated from Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma), it is mentioned that if you are unable to perform Salat al-Tasbih even once in a year, then at least perform it once in your lifetime.
In some narrations from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (radi Allahu anhuma), it is mentioned that this "Salat al-Tasbih" should be performed after the sun has declined (i.e., after zawal).
This is preferable.
