´It was narrated that Rifa’ah Al-Juhani said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah provides respite until, when half or two thirds of the night had passed, He says: “My slave does not ask of anyone other than Me. Whoever calls upon Me, I will answer him; whoever asks of Me, I will give him; whoever asks My forgiveness, I will forgive him,” until dawn comes.’”

Benefits and Issues: ➊
Granting respite means that Allah gives His servants time to sleep and rest; He does not demand that they remain engaged in worship for twenty-four hours continuously.
Or, it may mean that the call mentioned in the hadith begins after a specific time.
➋
If half the night or a third of the night remains, then getting up to perform tahajjud (voluntary night prayer) and supplicating is superior to performing tahajjud and supplicating in the early part of the night.
However, if a person fears that he will not be able to wake up at the superior time,
he may perform tahajjud and other acts after the ‘isha prayer,
so that he is not deprived of the reward altogether.
➌
Servants should make Allah alone the center of their hope and fear.
Because any comfort or hardship that comes through the hands of creation,
it too comes only by Allah’s mercy and wisdom, and by His command.
➍
Voluntary worship at night is superior to voluntary worship during the day.
