Benefits and Issues:
➊
The mentioned narration is weak in its chain of transmission; however, the issue itself is correct, as the statement of Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari.
From this, it is understood that it is legislatively prohibited to wear weapons on the occasion of Eid. (Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Eidayn, Chapter: What is disliked regarding carrying weapons on Eid and in the Haram, Hadith: 966)
➋
The wisdom behind this prohibition is that, due to the gathering of Muslims, someone might unintentionally cause harm to another, and this serves as a precaution against such occurrences.
