´‘Abdur-Rahman bin Sa’d bin ‘Ammar bin Sa’d said:` “My father told me, from his father, from his grandfather, that when the Prophet (ﷺ) went out on the two ‘Eid, he would pass by the house of Sa’eed bin Abul-‘As, then by the people of the tent, then he would leave by a different route, via Banu Zuraiq, then he would go out by the house of ‘Ammar bin Yasir and the house of Abu Hurairah to Balat.”

Brief Explanation
1؎ : Balat is the name of a place, which was located between the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid Nabawi) and the marketplace.

2؎ : The scholars have mentioned many wisdoms behind changing the route. Imam Nawawi rahimahullah has stated that the wisdom is that the places of worship become more numerous. Some say that the reason is so that both routes will bear witness on the Day of Resurrection, saying: “O Allah, this servant passed over us while proclaiming Your greatness (takbir) and declaring Your oneness (tahlil),” because for the Eid prayer, it is prescribed to recite the takbirs aloud and remember Allah while coming and going along the routes. Or the purpose is that, instead of just one, the poor (fuqara) on both routes may benefit from the charity and alms of the people. Or it is so that the strength and unity of the Muslims may be displayed as much as possible.
