Commentary:
This narration is weak.
Allamah Nasiruddin al-Albani rahimahullah has declared it to be baseless.
Even from a rational perspective, firstly, how could Ali radi Allahu anhu say that for seven years he alone performed prayer with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when the period of seven years from the advent of prophethood is a very long time?
As a result of the initial three years of silent propagation, many individuals in Makkah Mukarramah had already accepted the call of Islam, and secondly, how could a righteous and humble servant of Allah like Ali radi Allahu anhu utter such boastful words as, “I alone am the greatest truthful one (Siddiq Akbar)”?
In this regard, this narration is indeed extremely weak and baseless.
