Hadith 1143

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ إِذَا أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that when the dawn illuminated, the Prophet (ﷺ) would pray two Rak’ah.

Benefit:
Allamah al-Albani rahimahullah stated that this hadith was originally narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu from Umm al-Mu'minin Hafsah radi Allahu anha, and she narrated it from the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. However, this does not affect the reliability of the hadith.
