Benefits and Issues:
➊
Our Shaykh has declared the mentioned narration to be weak in its chain of transmission.
Whereas other researchers have declared it to be authentic.
For details, see: (Al-Mawsu‘ah al-Hadithiyyah, Musnad al-Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26/84, 85, 86; and Irwa’ al-Ghalil by al-Albani, Hadith no. 4)
Therefore, the preferred view is that the matters stated in the mentioned hadith are correct and actionable.
And Allah knows best.
➋
(Nafkhah)
means to blow.
By this is meant that an angel (Sayyiduna Israfil alayhis salam)
will blow into that special thing
which is mentioned in the Noble Qur’an as the “Sur” (Trumpet).
That is, the horn or bugle.
This is the beginning of the stages of the Day of Resurrection.
➌
There are three blowings (nafakhat).
With one blowing, all living creatures present at that time will fall unconscious.
Allah, the Exalted, has said:
﴿وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن شَاءَ اللَّـهُ ۖ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنظُرُونَ﴾ (Az-Zumar: 68)
“And the Trumpet will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall unconscious, except whom Allah wills.”
With the second blowing, everything will perish.
It is stated:
“So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast,
and the earth and the mountains are lifted and crushed with a single blow.”
With the third blowing, all creation will be resurrected.
It is stated:
﴿ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنظُرُونَ﴾ (Az-Zumar: 68)
“Then it will be blown into again, and behold, they will be standing, looking on.”
➍
Sending blessings (salat, i.e., durood sharif) is a most virtuous act.
And Friday is a most virtuous day, so there is a special connection between Friday and sending blessings, due to which one should recite salat upon the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) more abundantly on Friday.
➎
The meaning of the presentation of salat (durood sharif) is that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is informed of it.
So that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) may be pleased with the righteous deeds of his Ummah; otherwise, the reward of all deeds is given by Allah, the Exalted, alone.
➏
This does not mean that as soon as salat (durood sharif) is recited,
the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is immediately informed.
It is possible that he is informed at an appropriate time.
From this, it is understood that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) does not directly hear anyone’s salat (durood),
neither from near nor from far; rather, the angels convey it to him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
The narration about hearing it from nearby is not authentic in its chain.
➐
From this, the existence of the Barzakh (intermediate) life is established.
It is necessary to have faith in this life.
But it cannot be compared to worldly life.
Rather, its reality is known only to Allah.
The connection of the person buried in the grave with his body is also a matter of the unseen.
One should not say anything in such matters based on personal opinion.
Only that much should be accepted which is explicitly stated in the Noble Qur’an or authentic hadith.
