´It was narrated from Mu’awiyah bin Qurrah that his father said:` “We were forbidden to form a row between two pillars at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and we would be repelled from them forcefully.”
Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefit:
If, during congregational prayer, a pillar comes between the rows, the row is considered broken.
Therefore, this has been prohibited.
If there is no congregation taking place, then there is no harm in standing between the pillars, because at that time, the people standing there will not be considered as forming a row.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performed prayer between two pillars inside the Sacred Ka‘bah.
