ومن طريق سعيد بن المسيب أيضا قال : قضى عمر في العنين أن يؤجل سنة. ورجاله ثقات.
Narrated Sa'id bin al-Musaiyab this Hadith also: 'Umar (RA) gave a decree regarding a husband who is impotent that he must be given delay for one year. [Its narrators are reliable].

«أخرجه ابن أبي شيبة:4 /206، حديث:16496 فيه سعيد بن أبي عروبة وقتادة مدلسان وعنعنا.»©Explanation:
Although this narration and the hadith of Zayd ibn Ka‘b ibn ‘Ujrah are weak in their chains of transmission, nevertheless, every defect or deficiency that becomes a cause of aversion between husband and wife, and due to which the objective of marriage is not fulfilled—meaning, mutual love and affection are not established, or that defect or deficiency interferes with the marital duties (wazifat al-zawjiyyah)—then such a deficiency becomes a cause and reason for the right of option (ikhtiyar) and a basis for annulment of the marriage (fasakh al-nikah), as is evident from the proofs.
‘Allamah Ibn Qayyim rahimahullah has adopted this same position in his book Zad al-Ma‘ad, and this is also the position of the majority (jumhur).
