وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله تعالى عنه قال : قال رسول صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم : «لا تزوج المرأة المرأة ، ولا تزوج المرأة نفسها». رواه ابن ماجه والدارقطني ، ورجاله ثقات.
Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "A woman may not give a woman in marriage, nor may she give herself in marriage." [Reported by Ibn Majah and ad-Daraqutni. Its narrators are reliable (thiqah)].

«أخرجه ابن ماجه، النكاح، باب لا نكاح إلا بولي، حديث:1882، والدارقطني:3 /227، وللحديث شواهد عند البيهقي:7 /110 وغيره.»©Explanation:
This hadith is evidence that no woman can be the guardian (wali) of another woman, nor is she authorized to contract her own marriage as a guardian (wali).
This is the opinion of the majority of scholars (jumhur ulama).
However, the Hanafi scholars (Ahnaf) say that an intelligent, adult woman (aqilah balighah) can contract her own marriage as well as the marriage of her minor daughter, and she can also act as an agent (wakil) for someone else’s marriage. However, if she marries someone who is not compatible (ghayr kafu’), then the guardian (wali) has the right to intervene.
And Imam Malik rahimahullah says that only a woman of low status (kam zat) can contract her own marriage; it is not permissible for a woman of noble status (mu’azzaz khatoon) to do so. However, in this matter, the opinion of the majority of scholars is stronger.
