Hadith Narrator: (Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah radi Allahu anhu) His name is Nafi‘ (the diminutive of Nafi‘) bin Harith or Ibn Masruh. He, along with some young men, exited from the fortress of Ta’if by means of a pulley. Since a pulley is called “bakrah,” this became his well-known kunyah. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam set him free. He is counted among the distinguished Companions, and had many children. He passed away in Basrah in the year 51 or 52 Hijri.
