وعن شداد بن أوس رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم أتى على رجل بالبقيع وهو يحتجم في رمضان فقال : « أفطر الحاجم والمحجوم ». رواه الخمسة إلا الترمذي وصححة أحمد وابن خزيمة وابن حبان
Shaddad bin Aus (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came across a man in Al-Baqi' (in Madinah) who was having himself cupped in Ramadan., and said to him, “The one who cups and the one who is being cupped have both broken their fast." Related by the five Imams except for At-Tirmidhi. Ahmad, Ibn Khuzaimah and Ibn Hibban regarded it as authentic.

He is Shaddad bin Aws radi Allahu anhu, Abu Ya’la Najjari, Ansari Madani. Due to being from the Ansar, he is called Ansari Madani. He was the nephew of Hassan bin Thabit radi Allahu anhu. He was a possessor of knowledge and forbearance. He passed away in Sham in 58 Hijri at the age of 75 years.
