Benefits and Issues 509:
➊ In this hadith, the virtue of charity (sadaqah) is mentioned: the one who gives charity will stand under the shade of his charity on the Day of Resurrection. On that day, the heat and intensity will be at their utmost. To be granted shade on that day will be an extraordinary blessing.
➋ There can be two meanings of "shade": one is that, in reality, the charity will provide shade like a canopy, and the one who gave charity will stand under that shade, feeling peace and tranquility; or the second meaning could be that the charity will be supporting the person and will secure his forgiveness.
➌ Another beneficial aspect of voluntary charities (nafl sadaqat) is that if there is any deficiency or shortcoming in the obligatory zakah, it will be completed through them.
