Hadith 424

Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr (RA): She brought out the mantle (over-garment) of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)) with it's collar, sleeves, front and back hemmed with brocade (silk). [Abu Dawud reported it]. Its basic meaning is in Muslim's Sahih with the addition: "It was with 'Aishah (RA) till she died, then I took possession of it. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to wear it, and we wash it for the sick, seeking cure by means of it." al-Bukhari added in Adab al-Mufrad: "He [the Prophet (ﷺ)] used to wear it on the visit of a delegation and on Fridays."
