Narrated [Ibn 'Abbas (RA)]: He [the Prophet (ﷺ)] prayed during an earthquake six bowings and four prostrations, and said, "This is the way the Prayer of the Signs (of Allah) is offered. [Reported by al-Baihaqi]. ash-Shafi'i reported a similar Hadith without its end through 'Ali bin Abu Talib (RA).

Takhrij:
Explanation:
➊ This hadith shows that in the event of a sudden accident or the occurrence of a terrestrial or celestial calamity, one should immediately perform prayer. This is called «صَلَاۃُ الْآیَاتِ».
➋ It is also understood from this that to remove calamity and hardship, one should turn only to Allah Ta'ala; turning towards others besides Allah and considering them as a means of removing afflictions and pains is shirk (associating partners with Allah). This is an unforgivable crime and there is absolutely no pardon for it. Therefore, Muslims should pay special attention to this, lest all their deeds become void.
A‘adhana Allahu minhu (May Allah protect us from it).
