Narrated Rabi'ah bin Ka'b al-Aslami (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Ask." I said, "I ask your company in Paradise." He replied, "Or something else?" I said, "That is it (i.e. that is what I desire)." He said, "Then help me to achieve this for you by devoting yourself often to prostration." [Reported by Muslim].

Hadith Takhrij«أخرجه مسلم، الصلاة، باب فضل السجود والحث عليه، حديث:489.»
➋ From this hadith, it is understood that the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) took “prostration” (sujud) to mean supererogatory prayer (nafl salah). And this hadith also establishes that prostration (sujud) has superiority over all other pillars of prayer. Prostration is the most effective means of attaining closeness to Allah.
➌ This hadith also shows that, for nearness to Allah and companionship of the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), it is necessary to perform supererogatory acts of worship (nawafil) in abundance. Regret is due upon those people who claim to follow the Sunnah, yet do not have as much inclination toward nawafil as is emphasized regarding them. And some people are claimants of being lovers of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) only verbally, but as for nawafil, let alone those, they do not even perform the obligatory prayers (faraid); yet they still consider themselves lovers of the Messenger. Rather, the ignorant and unlearned people have even elevated such individuals—who have never even seen the prayer being performed—to the rank of sainthood (wilayah).
