Hadith 1355

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say, “O Allah! Set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs. And set right for me the affairs of the world wherein is my living. Decree the Hereafter to be good for me. And make this life, for me, (a source) of abundance for every good and make my death (a source) of comfort to me and protection against every evil.” Related by Muslim

2720.»©Explanation:
➊ In this supplication as well, a request is being made for goodness in religion, worldly life, and the Hereafter, for a true believer understands that the goodness of this world is also in the control of the Creator of the universe, and He alone is the sole Owner of the goodness of the Hereafter.
➋ No one should derive from this that asking for death is permissible; rather, in this hadith, the request is for safety and security from the circumstances that arise after death.
The hardships and calamities of this world come to an end with death, and the trials of the Hereafter begin; therefore, this supplication is for attaining safety and security from those trials.
