Hadith 1324

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم : « ما نقصت صدقة من مال وما زاد الله عبدا بعفو إلا عزا وما تواضع أحد لله إلا رفعه » أخرجه مسلم.
Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Sadaqah does not decrease property and Allah increases the honor of him who forgives and no one will humble himself for Allah’s sake except that Allah raises his status.” Related by Muslim.

In this hadith, three aspects of noble character are mentioned, and all three are the foundation of virtuous morals: namely, charity (sadaqah), forgiveness and forbearance (‘afw wa darguzar), and humility (tawadu‘).
Whoever possesses these three qualities will be beloved to Allah, and Allah’s creation will also love him.
