Takhrij:
This hadith describes the virtue of that Muslim who, in the absence of his Muslim brother, safeguards his honor and dignity and defends him.
This defense is obligatory because violating the honor of a believing brother is an evil, and it is obligatory to denounce evil and prevent it to the best of one’s ability.
This is why, in another hadith, there is also condemnation of the one who does not defend; furthermore, such defense discourages the one who is backbiting or slandering, so that he will refrain from it in the future, and between the defender and the one defended, brotherhood and love are fostered.
