وعن أبي ذر رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم : « لا تحقرن من المعروف ولو أن تلقى أخاك بوجه طلق».
Abu Dharr (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Do not consider any act of goodness as being insignificant even if it is meeting your brother with a cheerful face.” Related by Muslim.

Benefits:
No righteous deed is insignificant. Allah the Exalted has said:
«وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّـهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ» [2-البقرة:215]
“And whatever good you do, Allah knows it.”
And He said:
«فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ» [99-الزلزلة:7]
“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.”

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: Since virtue paves the way for further virtue, therefore, Satan, in order to deprive a person of good deeds, puts this thought into his heart: "You have committed major sins, you have not performed any great acts of virtue, what will you gain from doing this small good deed?" Whereas, very often, a small good deed performed with sincerity (ikhlas) and good intention (niyyah) transforms a person's entire state, paves the way for greater acts of virtue, becomes a means for the forgiveness of sins, and blocks the path of evil. Just as a woman's entire state was transformed merely by giving water to a dog, and for another, removing a thorny branch from the path paved the way to Paradise. Therefore, one should not refrain from any good deed by considering it insignificant.
