Hadith 1158

وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم : « ذكاة الجنين ذكاة أمه » رواه أحمد وصححه ابن حبان.
Abu Sa'id Khudri (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The (legal) slaughtering of the fetus is included when its mother is slaughtered." Related by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

«أخرجه أحمد:3 /31، 39، 45، 53، وابن حبان (الموارد)، حديث:1077، وله شواهد عند أبي داود، الضحايا، حديث:2827، والحاكم:4 /114 وغيرهما.»©Explanation:
The meaning of the hadith is that when, after the mother animal is slaughtered, the offspring is found dead, then eating such a fetus is lawful; it does not need to be slaughtered.
This is the opinion of all scholars except Imam Abu Hanifah rahimahullah.
Imam Sahib rahimahullah says that it will only be lawful if it is slaughtered.
However, this hadith is entirely contrary to his view.
