Hadith 1156

وعن جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما قال : نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم أن يقتل شيء من الدواب صبرا . رواه مسلم.
Jabir bin Abdullah (RAA) narrated, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prohibited beating a tied-animal to death." Related by Muslim.

The meaning of killing by tying is that a living being is tied up alive and then targeted and killed in such a way that it dies.
As for tying up and then slaughtering (dhabh), that is permissible.
It does not fall under the category of killing by tying.
