Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Avoid these filthy practices which Allah, the Almighty has prohibited. He who commits any of these, should conceal with Allah's Most High Veil (i.e. should not speak about it), and should turn to Allah, the Most High in repentance, for if anyone uncovers his hidden sins (to us), we shall inflict on him the punishment prescribed by Allah, the Al-Mighty." Related by Al-Hakim and in Al-Muwatta' but traced to its narrator Zaid bin Aslam as hadith Mursal.

Takhrij:
«أخرجه الحاكم:4 /244، 383 وصححه علي شرط الشيخين، ووافقه الذهبي، وملك في الموطأ:2 /825، وللحديث شواهد في التمهيد:(5 /224) وغيره.»
Explanation:
From this hadith, it is understood that due to human weakness, the occurrence of a sin is not unexpected. However, when a sin does occur, a person should not go around disclosing his crime and action before people. Rather, when Allah the Exalted has concealed it, he should let it remain concealed and, in private, repent before Allah, Lord of Majesty, and seek His forgiveness.
But if he openly expresses his sin and confesses his crime, then in no way can he escape the prescribed legal punishment (hadd) of the Shari‘ah.
Hadith Narrator:
«حضرت زید بن اسلم رضی اللہ عنہ » is the Companion (Sahabi), and he is from Banu Bali, that is, the tribe of Banu Ajlan.
He was an ally of the Ansar tribe, Banu Amr ibn Awf.
He participated in the Battle of Badr.
It is said that he supported Ali radi Allahu anhu at Siffin.
Hisham Kalbi has said that he was killed by Tulayha ibn Khuwailid al-Asadi on the day of the Battle of Buzakhah, at the beginning of the caliphate of Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu, that is, in 11 AH.
