Narrated Sahl: I heard the Prophet saying, "A (small) place equal to an area occupied by a whip in Paradise is better than the (whole) world and whatever is in it; and an undertaking (journey) in the forenoon or in the afternoon for Allah's Cause, is better than the whole world and whatever is in it."
Its explanation, and Allah the Exalted has said (in Surah Al-Hadid): "Indeed, the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement, and adornment, and boasting among yourselves, and rivalry in increase of wealth and children. Its example is like that of rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter there is severe punishment for the disbelievers, and forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure for the believers. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion."
