بَابُ طُولِ النَّجْوَى:
Chapter. Holding secret counsel for a long while.
Hadith 6292
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَجُلٌ يُنَاجِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا زَالَ يُنَاجِيهِ حَتَّى نَامَ أَصْحَابُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى " .
Narrated Anas: The Iqama for the prayer was announced while a man was talking to Allah's Apostle privately. He continued talking in that way till the Prophet's companions slept, and afterwards the Prophet got up and offered the prayer with them.
وَقَوْلُهُ : وَإِذْ هُمْ نَجْوَى مَصْدَرٌ مِنْ نَاجَيْتُ ، فَوَصَفَهُمْ بِهَا وَالْمَعْنَى : يَتَنَاجَوْنَ "
(In Surah Bani Isra'il it is stated) «وإذ هم نجوى» so «نجوى», «ناجيت» is the root word, meaning those people are whispering; here it is describing the attribute of those people.
Hadith 6292
وَقَوْلُهُ : وَإِذْ هُمْ نَجْوَى مَصْدَرٌ مِنْ نَاجَيْتُ ، فَوَصَفَهُمْ بِهَا وَالْمَعْنَى : يَتَنَاجَوْنَ "
