بَابُ قَصِّ الشَّارِبِ:
Chapter. To cut short the moustaches.
Hadith 5888
حَدَّثَنَا الْمَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ . ح قَالَ أَصْحَابُنَا ، عَنِ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ قَصُّ الشَّارِبِ " .
Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet said, "To get the moustaches cut 'short is characteristic of the Fitra."
وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُحْفِي شَارِبَهُ حَتَّى يُنْظَرَ إِلَى بَيَاضِ الْجِلْدِ ، وَيَأْخُذُ هَذَيْنِ ، يَعْنِي بَيْنَ الشَّارِبِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ
And ‘Umar (or Ibn ‘Umar), may Allah be pleased with them both, used to trim the mustache so much that the whiteness of the skin would become visible, and the hair between the mustache and the beard (on the chin), meaning the hair in the middle, he would have them cut off.
Hadith 5888
وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُحْفِي شَارِبَهُ حَتَّى يُنْظَرَ إِلَى بَيَاضِ الْجِلْدِ ، وَيَأْخُذُ هَذَيْنِ ، يَعْنِي بَيْنَ الشَّارِبِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ

Hadith 5889
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : ، حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، رِوَايَةً " الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ أَوْ خَمْسٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ الْخِتَانُ وَالِاسْتِحْدَادُ وَنَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ وَتَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ " .
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the nails and cutting the moustaches short."
