The Book of The Virtues of The Quran
بَابُ كَيْفَ نُزُولُ الْوَحْيِ وَأَوَّلُ مَا نَزَلَ:
(1) Chapter. How the Divine Revelation used to be revealed and what was the first thing revealed (to the Messenger ).
2بَابُ نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ بِلِسَانِ قُرَيْشٍ وَالْعَرَبِ:
(2) Chapter. The Quran was revealed in the language of Quraish and the Arabs. "...An Arabic Quran..." (V.12:2) "In the plain Arabic language." (V.26:195)
3بَابُ جَمْعِ الْقُرْآنِ:
(3) Chapter. The collection of the Quran.
4بَابُ كَاتِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
(4) Chapter. The scribe of the Prophet.
5بَابُ أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ:
(5) Chapter. The Quran was revealed to be recited in seven different ways.
6بَابُ تَأْلِيفِ الْقُرْآنِ:
(6) Chapter. The compilation of the Quran (i.e., the arrangement of its Surah).
7بَابُ كَانَ جِبْرِيلُ يَعْرِضُ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
(7) Chapter. Jibril (Gabriel) used to present (recite) the Quran to the Prophet.
8بَابُ الْقُرَّاءِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
(8) Chapter. (What is said regarding) the Qurra (the reciters of the Quran by heart) from among the Companions of the Prophet.
9بَابُ فَضْلِ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ:
(9) Chapter. The superiority of Fatiha-til-Kitab (The Opening Surah of the Book).
10بَابُ فَضْلُ الْبَقَرَةِ:
(10) Chapter. The superiority of Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) [No.2].
11بَابُ فَضْلُ الْكَهْفِ:
(11) Chapter. The superiority of Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave) [No.18].
12بَابُ فَضْلُ سُورَةِ الْفَتْحِ:
(12) Chapter. The superiority of Surat Al-Fath (The Victory) [No.48].
13بَابُ فَضْلِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ:
(13) Chapter. The superiority of Qul-Huwa Allahu Ahad. ["Say (O Muhammad ): He is Allah, (the) One."] (i.e., Surat Al-Iklas) [No.112].
14بَابُ فَضْلِ الْمُعَوِّذَاتِ:
(14) Chapter. The superiority of Al-Muawwidhat (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas) [No.113 & 114].
15بَابُ نُزُولِ السَّكِينَةِ وَالْمَلاَئِكَةِ عِنْدَ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ:
(15) Chapter. The descent of As-Sakinah (peace, reassurance and tranquillity) and angels at the time of the recitation of the Quran.
16بَابُ مَنْ قَالَ لَمْ يَتْرُكِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلاَّ مَا بَيْنَ الدَّفَّتَيْنِ:
(16) Chapter. Whoever said that the Prophet did not leave anything after his death, except what is between the two binders (of the Quran).
17بَابُ فَضْلِ الْقُرْآنِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَلاَمِ:
(17) Chapter. The superiority of the Quran above other kinds of speech.
18بَابُ الْوَصَاةِ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:
(18) Chapter. To recommend the Book of Allah (the Quran).
19بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يَتَغَنَّ بِالْقُرْآنِ:
(19) Chapter. Whoever does not recite the Quran in a pleasant tone.
20بَابُ اغْتِبَاطِ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ:
(20) Chapter. Wish to be the like of the one who recites the Quran.
21بَابُ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ:
(21) Chapter. The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Quran and teach it (to others).
22بَابُ الْقِرَاءَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ الْقَلْبِ:
(22) Chapter. The recitation of the Quran by heart.
23بَابُ اسْتِذْكَارِ الْقُرْآنِ وَتَعَاهُدِهِ:
(23) Chapter. The learning of the Quran by heart and the reciting of it repeatedly.
24بَابُ الْقِرَاءَةِ عَلَى الدَّابَّةِ:
(24) Chapter. The recitation of the Quran on an animal.
25بَابُ تَعْلِيمِ الصِّبْيَانِ الْقُرْآنَ:
(25) Chapter. Teaching the Quran to the children.
26بَابُ نِسْيَانِ الْقُرْآنِ وَهَلْ يَقُولُ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا:
(26) Chapter. Forgetting the Quran. And can one say: “I forgot such and such a Verse?”
27بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يَرَ بَأْسًا أَنْ يَقُولَ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ وَسُورَةُ كَذَا وَكَذَا:
(27) Chapter. Whoever thinks that there is no harm in saying: Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) or Surat so-and-so.
28بَابُ التَّرْتِيلِ فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ:
(28) Chapter. The recitation of Quran in Tartil (clearly and in slow style).
29بَابُ مَدِّ الْقِرَاءَةِ:
(29) Chapter. Prolonging certain sounds while reciting the Quran.
30بَابُ التَّرْجِيعِ:
(30) Chapter. At-Tajri (to recite the Quran in a sort of attraction viberating tone).
31بَابُ حُسْنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ:
(31) Chapter. To recite the Quran in a charming voice.
32بَابُ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَسْمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ غَيْرِهِ:
(32) Chapter. Whoever likes to hear the Quran from another person.
33بَابُ قَوْلِ الْمُقْرِئِ لِلْقَارِئِ حَسْبُكَ:
(33) Chapter. The saying of the listener (to the recitation of the Quran) to the reciter: “Enough!”
34بَابٌ في كَمْ يُقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنُ:
(34) Chapter. What is the proper period for reciting the whole Quran.
35بَابُ الْبُكَاءِ عِنْدَ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ:
(35) Chapter. To weep while reciting the Quran.
36بَابُ مَنْ رَايَا بِقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ أَوْ تَأَكَّلَ بِهِ أَوْ فَخَرَ بِهِ:
(36) Chapter. The sin of the person who recites the Quran to show off or to gain some worldly benefit, or to feel proud etc.
37بَابُ اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ مَا ائْتَلَفَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ:
(37) Chapter. Recite (and study) the Quran together as long as you agree about its interpretation.
