Mujahid said the meaning of «لا يرجون حسابا» is that they do not fear (the reckoning) of deeds. «لا يملكون منه خطابا» means that out of fear, they will not be able to speak to Him except when they are permitted to speak. «صوابا» means the one who spoke the truth in the world and acted upon it. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said «وهاجا» means bright, shining. Others said «غساقا», «غسقت», «عيينه» is derived from it, meaning his eye became darkened, and from this is «يغسق لجراح», meaning the wound is flowing. «غساق» and «غسيق» both have the same meaning, that is, the blood and pus of the people of Hell. «عطاء حسابا» means full recompense. The Arabs say «أعطاني ما أحسبني.», meaning I have been given so much that it sufficed me.
Narrated Al--A`mash: Abu Huraira said, "Allah's Messenger said, 'Between the two sounds of the trumpet, there will be forty." Somebody asked Abu Huraira, "Forty days?" But he refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty months?" He refused to reply. Then he asked, "Forty years?" Again, he refused to reply. Abu Huraira added. "Then (after this period) Allah will send water from the sky and then the dead bodies will grow like vegetation grows, There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection."
