Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that by «الذاريات» is meant the winds. Others said that the meaning of «تذروه» is that it scatters (this word is in Surah Al-Kahf). It is brought here in relation to «الرياح». «وفي أنفسكم افلا تبصرون» means there are signs in your own selves; do you not see that food and drink enter through one way, the mouth, but come out as waste through other ways. «فراغ» means he returned (or came quietly). «فصكت» means he struck his forehead with his hand while making a fist. «الرميم» means when the grass of the earth dries up and is trampled. «لموسعون» means We have made it spacious and wide. Some said Allah created the jinn and mankind for this very purpose, that they should affirm Allah’s Oneness, but some accepted and some did not. There is no proof for the Mu'tazilah in this verse. «الذنوب» means large buckets. Mujahid said that «ذنوبا» means path. Mujahid said that «صرة» means to shout. «ذنوبا» means path and way. «العقيم» means barren, one who does not bear children. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that by «الحبك» is meant the beautiful evenness of the sky. «في غمرة» means they spend their time in their misguidance. Others said the meaning of «تواصوا» is that they also began to say in agreement with them. «مسومة» means marked. This is derived from «سيما.», which means sign. «قتل الخراصون» means liars, accursed.
Qatadah said «مسطور» means «مكتوب», that is, written. Mujahid said «الطور» means mountain in the Syriac language. «رق منشور» means an open scroll, a sheet. «لسقف المرفوع» means the sky. «المسجور» means heated. Hasan al-Basri said «مسجور» means that one day a flood will come upon the sea and all its water will dry up, and not a single drop will remain. Mujahid said «ألتناهم» means diminished, lessened. Others besides Mujahid said «تمور» means it will revolve. «أحلامهم» means their intellects. Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said «البر» means merciful. «كسفا» means pieces. «المنون» means death. Others said «يتنازعون» means to snatch from one another, either in jest or in fighting.
Narrated Um Salama: I complained to Allah's Messenger that I was sick, so he said, "Perform the Tawaf (of Ka`ba at Mecca) while riding behind the people (who are performing the Tawaf on foot)." So I performed the Tawaf while Allah's Messenger was offering the prayer by the side of the Ka`ba and was reciting: 'By the Mount (Saini) and by a Decree Inscribed.'

Narrated Jubair bin Mut`im: I heard the Prophet reciting Surat at-Tur in the Maghrib prayer, and when he reached the Verse: 'Were they created by nothing, Or were they themselves the creators, Or did they create the Heavens and the Earth? Nay, but they have no firm belief Or do they own the treasures of Your Lord? Or have they been given the authority to do as they like...' (52.35-37) my heart was about to fly (when I realized this firm argument).
