1 hadith
Hadith 4802
And Mujahid said that «فعززنا‏» means «شددنا‏», that is, "We emphasized." «يا حسرة على العباد‏» means that on the Day of Resurrection, the disbeliever will regret (or the angels will regret) that they mocked the prophets in the world. The meaning of «أن تدرك القمر‏» is that the sun does not conceal the light of the moon, nor does the moon conceal the light of the sun. The meaning of «سابق النهار‏» is that they are moving one after the other. «نسلخ‏» means "We extract the day from the night, and both are moving." «وخلقنالهم من مثله» refers to cattle. «فكهون‏» means happy (or jesting). «جند محضرون‏» means they will be presented at the time of reckoning. And it is narrated from ‘Ikrimah that the meaning of «مشحون‏» is heavy, laden. Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said «طائركم‏» means your calamities (or your fate). The meaning of «ينسلون‏» is "they will come out." «مرقدنا‏» means from the place of coming out (the sleeping place, i.e., the grave). «أحصيناه‏» means "We have preserved it." «مكانتهم» and «مكانهم» both have the same meaning, that is, in their dwellings, in their homes.
Narrated Abu Dharr: Once I was with the Prophet in the mosque at the time of sunset. The Prophet said, "O Abu Dharr! Do you know where the sun sets?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know best." He said, "It goes and prostrates underneath (Allah's) Throne; and that is Allah's Statement:-- 'And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (decreed). And that is the decree of All-Mighty, the All-Knowing....' (36.38)
Mujahid said «قطمير» is the membrane of a date stone (the shell or covering of the pit). «مثقلة‏» means a heavy load, something laden. Others said «حرور» is the heat of the day when the sun has risen, and Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said «حرور» is the heat of the night and «سموم» is the heat of the day. «غرابيب‏», «غربيب» is the plural, meaning very black, completely dark.
