Chapter. The Statement of Allah: “Glorified (and Exalted) is He (Allah) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him], Who took His slave (Muhammad ) for a Journey by Night from AI-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to Al-Masjid-al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem)...” (V.17:1)
And «قضاء» has come with several meanings. For example, in verse «وقضى ربك ان لا تعبدوا» it means that Allah commanded, and it also means to judge, as in verse «إن ربك يقضي بينهم», and it also means to create, as in «فقضاهن سبع سموات». «نفيرا» refers to those people who go out to fight with a man. «وليتبروا ما علوا» means to destroy the cities over which they prevail. «حصيرا» means prison, jail; the right has become obligatory. «ميسورا» means soft, gentle. «خطئا» means sin; this is a noun from «خطئت », and «خطئا» with fatha is a verbal noun, meaning to commit a sin. «خطئت » with kasra on the ta and «اخطات» both have the same meaning, i.e., I erred, I made a mistake. «لن تخرق» means you will not be able to traverse the earth (because the earth is very vast). «نجوى» is a verbal noun from «ناجيت »; this describes those people, meaning they consult among themselves. «رفاتا» means broken, shattered pieces. «واستفزز» means to drive mad, to mislead. «بخيلك» means with their riders. «رجل» means foot soldiers; its singular is «راجل», just as the plural of «صاحب» is «صحب», and the plural of «تاجر» is «تجر.». «حاصبا» means windstorm. «حاصب» is also used for that which the wind brings (like sand, pebbles, etc.); from this is «حصب جهنم», meaning the one who is thrown into Hell is the «حصب» of Hell. The Arabs say «حصب في الأرض» meaning he sank into the earth; this is derived from «حصب», «حصباء». «حصباء» refers to stones, pebbles. «تارة» means once; its plural is «تيرة» and «تارات». «لأحتنكن» means I will destroy them, uproot them. The Arabs say «احتنك فلان ما عند فلان», meaning whatever things he knew, he learned them all, nothing remained unknown. «طائره» means his share. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Wherever the word «سلطان» appears in the Qur'an, it means proof and evidence. «ولي من الذل» means he did not befriend anyone so that he would save him from humiliation.
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger was presented with two cups one containing wine and the other milk on the night of his night journey at Jerusalem. He looked at it and took the milk. Gabriel said, "Thanks to Allah Who guided you to the Fitra (i.e. Islam); if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: The Prophet said, "When the Quraish disbelieved me (concerning my night journey), I stood up in Al- Hijr (the unroofed portion of the Ka`ba) and Allah displayed Bait-ul-Maqdis before me, and I started to inform them (Quraish) about its signs while looking at it."
