بَابُ هَلْ يُعْفَى عَنِ الذِّمِّيِّ إِذَا سَحَرَ:
Chapter. If a Dhimmi practises magic, can he be excused?
Hadith 3175
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سُحِرَ حَتَّى كَانَ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ شَيْئًا وَلَمْ يَصْنَعْهُ " .
Narrated Aisha: Once the Prophet was bewitched so that he began to imagine that he had done a thing which in fact he had not done.
وَقَالَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ سُئِلَ أَعَلَى مَنْ سَحَرَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعَهْدِ قَتْلٌ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ صُنِعَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فَلَمْ يَقْتُلْ مَنْ صَنَعَهُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ " .
Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Yunus informed him that Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: "If a dhimmi performs magic on someone, should he be killed?" He narrated: This hadith has reached us that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was bewitched, but because of this, he did not have the magician killed, and the one who bewitched him was from the People of the Book.
Hadith 3175
