بَابُ التَّحْرِيضِ عَلَى الرَّمْيِ:
Chapter. Exhortation to archery (i.e., arrow throwing).
Hadith 2899
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يَنْتَضِلُونَ ، فَقَالَ : النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ارْمُوا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا ارْمُوا ، وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ ، قَالَ : فَأَمْسَكَ أَحَدُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْمُونَ ، قَالُوا : كَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ارْمُوا فَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلِّكُمْ " .
Narrated Salama bin Al-Akwa`: The Prophet passed by some people of the tribe of Bani Aslam who were practicing archery. The Prophet said, "O Bani Isma`il ! Practice archery as your father Isma`il was a great archer. Keep on throwing arrows and I am with Bani so-and-so." So one of the parties ceased throwing. Allah's Apostle said, "Why do you not throw?" They replied, "How should we throw while you are with them (i.e. on their side)?" On that the Prophet said, "Throw, and I am with all of you."
وَقَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: {وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رِبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ}.
And the statement of Allah, the Exalted (in Surah Al-Anfal) «وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدو الله وعدوكم»: "And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy."
Hadith 2899
وَقَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: {وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رِبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ}.

Hadith 2900
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صَفَفَنَا لِقُرَيْشٍ وَصَفُّوا لَنَا إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ " .
Narrated Abu Usaid: On the day (of the battle) of Badr when we stood in rows against (the army of) Quraish and they stood in rows against us, the Prophet said, "When they do come near you, throw arrows at them."
